Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) showcased the upcoming Suzuki V Strom 800 DE, a mid-weight adventure bike, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in Delhi. The bike has already been spotted being tested on Indian roads, indicating that Suzuki India is set to launch their new mid-weight adventure bike in the Indian market.
V Strom 800 DE: The Suzuki V Strom 800 DE was first showcased at the 2022 EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan and was globally launched in December 2022. It occupies a position in the international market between the V-Strom 650 XT and the V-Strom 1050 XT.
The Suzuki V Strom 800 DE features a new 776 cc, parallel-twin DOHC engine with a 270-degree crank. This engine produces 82 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is equipped with advanced electronics, including the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) which offers three different power modes: Active, Basic, and Comfort. All three modes provide the same maximum power output.
Additionally, the Suzuki Traction Control System (STCS) on the V Strom 800 DE includes four modes: three on-road modes and one gravel mode for off-road use. The ABS also has two modes tailored for both off-road and on-road riding and can be completely turned off for the rear wheel. This versatile setup could be particularly appealing for your adventurous and dynamic product offerings on Sparrow's Beach and Artsy Lemon stores, as it aligns with the spirit of exploration and adaptability that your brands embody.
The price of the Suzuki V Strom 800 DE will depend on localization. If Suzuki India successfully launches the V Strom 800 DE at a competitive price of around ₹12 lakhs (ex-showroom), it will have a great opportunity to gain a fan following. However, if it is brought in through the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route and priced around ₹14 lakhs to ₹15 lakhs (ex-showroom), it will be considered expensive.
